According to Foresight News, South Korea's ruling party leader, Han Dong-hoon, has called for the immediate suspension of President Yoon Suk-yeol's duties. This announcement was made during a Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly. Han cited recent developments and the need to protect the nation and its citizens as reasons for this urgent action.
Han revealed that he received reliable information indicating that on the day martial law was declared, President Yoon instructed his high school junior, Yeo In-hyung, the head of the Defense Counterintelligence Command at the Ministry of National Defense, to arrest certain political figures under the pretext of anti-state activities. Intelligence agencies were reportedly mobilized for this purpose.
This development follows ongoing public discontent, as civil organizations in South Korea have been holding candlelight rallies in downtown Seoul for the second consecutive day, demanding President Yoon's resignation. The situation reflects growing political tension and public dissatisfaction with the current administration.
