According to BlockBeats, Solana's new consensus protocol proposal, Alpenglow (SIMD-0326), has been successfully approved through voting. The Alpenglow initiative aims to significantly reduce the block finalization time from 12.8 seconds to approximately 150 milliseconds.
The voting process required that the proportion of affirmative votes reach two-thirds of the total votes, including both approvals and rejections, for the proposal to pass.
