According to ChainCatcher, U.S. President Trump signed the (Guidance and Establishment of the U.S. Stablecoin National Innovation Act) at the White House, marking the enactment of the first federal legislation regulating cryptocurrencies.

The bill requires stablecoin issuers to maintain a 1:1 reserve backing with liquid assets such as U.S. dollars and short-term government bonds, and to publicly disclose the reserve composition monthly, making stablecoins an official currency instrument backed by the state.
