According to Foresight News, CNBC reports that U.S. chip software manufacturer Synopsys has announced the U.S. government has lifted export restrictions on chip design software to China. Competitor Cadence has also confirmed the policy change, stating it is restoring access for affected customers to its software and technology.
Previously, on May 23, the U.S. had informed several chip design software companies that they needed to obtain licenses before exporting software and semiconductor chemicals to China.
