According to PANews, Eigen Labs has announced the launch of the EigenCloud platform, designed to provide blockchain-level trust assurance for both Web2 and Web3 applications. The platform is built on the EigenLayer's restaking protocol and integrates features such as data availability, general computation, and dispute resolution. Additionally, a16z crypto has invested $70 million in EIGEN tokens, following its $100 million Series B funding round in February 2024.
The alpha version of the platform is now live, with testnet data showing a data availability layer throughput of 50MB per second. EigenCloud aims to extend blockchain technology to traditional fields like medical records and machine learning through a "verifiability as a service" model. The platform is gradually opening to developers and is expected to be fully launched by the end of 2025. Founder Sreeram Kannan stated that the platform will bridge the gap between developer needs and blockchain capabilities.
