According to Foresight News, South Korea's new president Lee Jae-myung has appointed Kim Yong-beom, former CEO of Hashed Research, as the chief policy officer of the presidential office. Kim Yong-beom previously served as the deputy minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and is regarded as one of the senior officials in the South Korean government who understands cryptocurrencies and Web3 best.

Analysis indicates that the Lee Jae-myung government is expected to adopt a friendly attitude towards cryptocurrencies. One of the first policy initiatives after Kim Yong-beom takes office may be to promote the issuance of a stablecoin based on the Korean won, aimed at preventing the outflow of national wealth and aligning with President Lee Jae-myung's policy priorities.
