According to BlockBeats, on May 19, Vitalik posted on the ethresear forum to discuss how to scale the Ethereum main chain (L1) and reduce the difficulty for individual users to run nodes, in order to maintain decentralization and user privacy.

The article proposes a multi-layered strategy, including short-term (EIP-4444, distributed storage, gas pricing adjustments), mid-term (stateless validation), and long-term (partially stateless nodes) measures to reduce the resource requirements for running Ethereum local nodes.

The new node model of partially stateless nodes validates blocks through stateless validation and verifies the entire chain, but only stores the parts of the state that users care about, responding to related RPC requests, while other requests may fail or require external cryptographic solutions.
