According to Cointelegraph, in April 2025, cryptocurrency hackers stole more than $90 million in digital assets, affecting the industry's reputation. Immunefi reported that 15 incidents occurred in April, with a total loss of $92 million, an increase of 124% from March.

The largest hack in April occurred on the open-source platform UPCX, with losses exceeding $70 million. KiloEx lost $7.5 million, but the attacker returned the funds a few days later. All attacks targeted DeFi platforms, and no incidents were reported on centralized exchanges.

Immunefi has paid more than $116 million in bounties to white hat hackers to protect user funds. The report points out that state-sponsored threats are the biggest challenge for the industry and security measures need to be strengthened. In 2025, hackers have stolen more than $1.7 billion in assets, exceeding the losses in 2024.
