According to PANews, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated on Thursday that the ongoing tariff dispute between the United States and China might soon come to an end. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump expressed his reluctance to continue increasing tariffs, suggesting that excessive tariffs could deter consumer spending. He stated, "I don't want tariffs to keep rising because at a certain point, people stop buying." Trump further mentioned that he might not pursue additional tariff hikes and could even consider lowering the current rates to encourage consumer activity. He emphasized the importance of maintaining consumer purchasing power, noting that beyond a certain threshold, people might cease buying altogether. Additionally, Trump hinted that an agreement regarding the future of TikTok might require more time to finalize.
