According to PANews, the U.S. Consumer Confidence Index for March recorded a value of 92.9, marking its lowest level since January 2021. This figure fell short of the expected 94 and was a decline from the previous value of 98.3.
Moody's has indicated that the financial strength of the United States is expected to decline over the coming years. Since the rating agency assigned a negative outlook to the U.S. sovereign rating, the country's fiscal strength has further deteriorated.
