Bybit CEO Ben Zhou revealed in a live broadcast on February 22 that a multi-signature transfer issue contributed to the $1.44 billion ETH theft. Zhou admitted that he was the last to sign the transaction using a Ledger device but failed to notice a critical problem—the delivery address was not displayed correctly during the signing process.
As a result of the breach, 4,000 withdrawal applications are currently waiting for processing, highlighting the disruption to Bybit’s operations following the attack.
