According to Foresight News, Ethereum core developer Justin.eth Drake announced on Twitter that the Beam Chain project will undergo a name change due to trademark issues associated with the name 'Beam.' During the first community conference call, it was revealed that eight new teams have joined the project, with support from six mainnet consensus layer teams. Additionally, two new coordinators have been introduced to the Ethereum Foundation.

Currently, the Beam Chain project comprises 14 consensus layer teams, representing every continent except Antarctica. These teams utilize a variety of programming languages, including Zig, C, C++, and C#. The project has also seen the emergence of several self-funded teams.
