According to PANews, the United States has agreed to release Russian cybercrime suspect Alexander Vinnik as part of a prisoner exchange with Russia, which will see the release of American citizen Marc Fogel. Vinnik, who once operated BTC-e, a major cryptocurrency exchange, was arrested in 2017 at the request of Washington. He was accused of laundering $4 billion through the platform. In May, Vinnik pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering and faces a 20-year prison sentence.
