According to PANews, U.S. President Donald Trump has chosen Brian Quintenz as the official Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as reported by Fox Business journalist Eleanor Terrett, citing three informed sources. Quintenz, who is currently the Head of Crypto Policy at a16z, previously served as a CFTC Commissioner.
The current Acting Chair of the CFTC, Caroline Pham, has congratulated Quintenz on his appointment. She noted that during his tenure as a CFTC Commissioner, Quintenz spearheaded several significant initiatives and is expected to play a leading role in the fields of cryptocurrency and innovation. The White House has yet to release an official statement regarding this appointment.
