According to Odaily, the Governor of the Bank of France, François Villeroy de Galhau, reiterated on Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff policies are likely to have a negative impact on the economy. He stated that while protectionism might seem appealing in the short term, it is ultimately a failing strategy in the long run. Villeroy also reaffirmed that France might avoid an economic recession in 2025. On Tuesday, the Bank of France indicated that the country's economy is expected to grow by 0.1-0.2% in the first quarter compared to the previous three months.
