According to Odaily, European Central Bank Governing Council member and Latvian Central Bank Governor Kazaks has called for negotiations between the European Union and the United States regarding trade issues. In an interview with LTV on Tuesday, Kazaks stated, "Negotiations always help in finding solutions with less pain. Europe must unite and negotiate with the United States to alleviate the pain caused by tariffs." He emphasized that tariffs are used not only for economic purposes but also for political reasons. Kazaks added, "If any response is necessary, it certainly should not involve escalation. The United States is our strategic partner, and this cooperation must be maintained."
