According to Odaily, OpenAI has announced plans to open its first office in Germany, with operations in Munich set to commence in the coming months. Germany represents a significant market for OpenAI, boasting the highest number of users, paid subscribers, and developers in Europe. This decision follows discussions with German officials since 2023 and is supported by Germany Trade & Invest, a government agency promoting international business. The move aligns with the European Union's Artificial Intelligence Act, which aims to establish global regulatory standards for AI. In addition to the Munich office, OpenAI has previously established offices in Paris, Brussels, and Dublin.
