According to Odaily, the U.S. Senate has confirmed Scott Bessent as the new Treasury Secretary with a vote of 68 to 29, succeeding Janet Yellen. Bessent, a prominent advocate for digital assets, will spearhead a government task force to develop a regulatory strategy for cryptocurrencies. He is also expected to oppose the implementation of a U.S. central bank digital currency (CBDC). Additionally, Bessent will oversee the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, focusing on enforcing cryptocurrency-related regulations in areas such as human trafficking and child exploitation.
