Pi was a nice project. It started well but the promises made were not kept, doctor nicolas disappointed everyone and the end of the pi network came. It can't recover anymore. Our money was not transferred to the stock market, we had a nightmare on every given date. Now you understand why Binance doesn't list pi? Nicolas constantly makes coding mistakes and our 5 years of work has become a garbage. Nicolas lowered the value of the wrong strategy Pi and pi is now a garbage project. #PiCoreTeam #BinanceSquareFamily #DrNicolas #nicolaskokkalis #picoin

“Meet Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis: The Visionary Behind Pi Coin”Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis is a Greek computer scientist, entrepreneur, and a key figure in the development of blockchain technology, best known as the co-founder and Head of Technology of the Pi Network. Below is a biography based on available information: Nicolas Kokkalis was born on March 19, 1984, in Athens, Greece, though some sources suggest a birth year of 1978. Raised in the suburb of Glyfada, he displayed an early aptitude for computers and technology. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Athens, completed in 2006. Seeking to further his education, he moved to the United States, where he earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2008. He continued at Stanford, obtaining a Ph.D. in Computer Science (some sources specify Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering) in 2012. During his doctoral studies, Kokkalis focused on distributed systems, human-computer interaction, and social computing, notably developing an early framework for programming fault-tolerant “smart contracts”—a precursor to concepts later popularized in blockchain ecosystems like Ethereum. Kokkalis’s career blends academic rigor with entrepreneurial innovation. At Stanford, he contributed to research at the Stanford Computer Systems Laboratory and the Center for Integrated Systems, working on scalable computing and communication systems. Beyond academia, he co-founded Callinica, a software company creating mobile applications for healthcare professionals, showcasing his interest in practical technology applications. His expertise in designing viral social applications also emerged during this period, with projects on platforms like Facebook and MySpace that attracted over 20 million users, earning him a Facebook Fund award in 2009 as CTO of Gameyola Inc. In 2011, Kokkalis co-founded StartX, a Stanford-affiliated nonprofit startup accelerator valued at over $26 billion, where he served as Chief Technology Officer until 2018. This role amplified his influence in fostering tech entrepreneurship. His most prominent venture, however, began on March 14, 2019—symbolically Pi Day—when he launched the Pi Network alongside colleagues Dr. Chengdiao Fan and Vincent McPhillip. The Pi Network is a decentralized cryptocurrency designed to be mined on mobile devices, aiming to democratize access to digital currency. Kokkalis’s vision emphasizes accessibility, sustainability, and community engagement, with the network growing to millions of users worldwide. Beyond Pi, Kokkalis has been recognized as a thought leader in blockchain and cryptocurrency. He taught Stanford’s first course on decentralized applications (CS359B) in 2018 as an adjunct assistant professor, mentoring future innovators. His accolades include being named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in Technology in 2020 and membership in the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network, where he advises on blockchain and decentralized finance Kokkalis’s work reflects a commitment to leveraging technology for societal benefit, blending academic insight with real-world impact. While details about his personal life, such as family, remain less documented, his professional legacy continues to evolve as the Pi Network approaches milestones like its Open Mainnet phase.
