On Tuesday, THORChain announced that XRP’s integration on its stagenet is nearing completion, with mainnet activation on the horizon. As a decentralized liquidity network enabling non-custodial cross-chain swaps, THORChain aims to significantly boost swap activity and protocol revenue with the addition of XRP.

XRP was added to the stagenet on April 11, allowing developers to test before going live. Once mainnet activation occurs, users will be able to swap XRP on THORChain’s live network — a major leap for multichain operability.

Despite little price movement for RUNE, which hovered around $1.35 on Wednesday, this development hints at a bullish future. Historically, adding major assets like DOGE and AVAX in 2021 led to increased trading volume and RUNE price spikes. If history repeats, RUNE could be poised for growth.

The move reinforces THORChain’s expanding ecosystem and strengthens its role in cross-chain interoperability.
