Bitcoin’s Financialization Trend
This release aligns with a wider push to financialize Bitcoin as institutional adoption accelerates. Coinbase recently launched an 8% Bitcoin yield fund, and XBTO partnered with Arab Bank Switzerland for a BTC options-based yield product targeting 5% annualized returns.
Bitcoin’s financialization has surged since the SEC approved spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, pushing its market cap to $2.5T and prompting even JPMorgan to consider Bitcoin ETFs as loan collateral. Federal regulators are also assessing crypto assets in housing risk models, showing Bitcoin’s integration into mainstream finance.

솔브 프로토콜(Solv Protocol)이 1조 달러가 넘는 유휴 비트코인(BTC)을 활용할 수 있는 기관 투자자용 수익형 볼트 ‘BTC+’를 출시했다. 이번 볼트는 탈중앙화 금융(DeFi), 중앙화 금융(CeFi), 전통 금융을 아우르는 다양한 전략으로 수익을 창출하도록 설계됐다.
복합 수익 전략과 보안 강화
BTC+ 볼트는 스테이킹, 베이시스 차익거래, 실물자산(RWA) 기반 토큰화 상품(대표적으로 블랙록 BUIDL 펀드) 등 다양한 전략을 결합해 수익을 추구한다. 또한 체인링크(Chainlink) Proof-of-Reserves를 활용한 온체인 자산 검증 및 순자산 가치(NAV) 기반 손실 방지 기능을 갖추었다.
볼트는 커스터디와 수익 창출 전략을 분리하는 ‘이중 레이어 아키텍처’를 채택, 보안성을 강화했다. 솔브 프로토콜은 현재 20억 달러 이상의 온체인 예치 자산(TVL)을 보유하고 있다.
비트코인 금융화 가속화
이번 볼트 출시는 기관 비트코인 금융화 추세의 연장선이다. 코인베이스(Coinbase)는 비슷한 시기 최대 8% 수익률을 제공하는 비트코인 전용 기관 상품을 출시했고, XBTO는 아랍은행 스위스와 협력해 옵션 매도 프리미엄을 통한 연 5% 수익 상품을 선보였다.
비트코인은 SEC의 현물 ETF 승인(2024년 1월) 이후 기관 자산으로 급부상했으며, 가격은 156% 이상 상승해 시가총액 2.5조 달러에 도달했다. JPMorgan이 비트코인 ETF를 대출 담보로 검토하는 등, 비트코인 금융화가 주류 금융권으로 빠르게 확산되고 있다.

Golden visa programs, once a favored route for wealthy crypto investors seeking residency and tax benefits, are rapidly shrinking worldwide. These schemes typically allow citizenship or residency in exchange for significant investments, often in real estate or local funds.
Recent changes highlight a global shift: Malta’s golden passport program was ruled illegal by the EU court, Spain canceled its golden visa over housing concerns, and Portugal is tightening its criteria. Since 2020, at least nine countries, including the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, and Bulgaria, have ended similar programs.
Golden visas were attractive to crypto investors for flexible residency requirements and favorable tax regimes. Some nations integrated crypto directly: Portugal’s Bitcoin Eco Golden Visa, El Salvador’s BTC citizenship program, and Italy’s planned crypto-startup route are examples. However, the overall trend is restrictive, driven by concerns over money laundering, market pressures, and housing affordability.
Despite the changes, niche crypto-linked visas like Portugal and El Salvador may continue, but their future is uncertain as global regulations tighten.

부유한 암호화폐 투자자들이 거주권과 세제 혜택을 위해 선호하는 골든비자 프로그램의 선택지가 점점 줄어들고 있다.
골든비자는 투자금(부동산 또는 현지 투자펀드)에 수십만 달러를 투입하면 거주권 또는 시민권을 제공하는 제도로, 지역 경제 발전에 기여할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 하지만 최근 각국 정부가 이를 재검토하고 있다.
2025년 5월 EU 법원은 몰타의 골든패스포트 제도를 불법으로 판결했다. 키프로스와 불가리아는 각각 2021년, 2022년에 해당 프로그램을 종료했다. 스페인은 2025년 4월 부동산 가격 급등 문제로 골든비자를 취소했다. 포르투갈 역시 요건 강화에 나섰다.
Crypto 친화적 국가들은 한때 골든비자를 활용해 부유층 투자자를 유치했으나, 이제 제도 남용, 자금세탁 우려, 지역 부동산 시장 악영향 등의 이유로 프로그램 축소 또는 폐지를 결정하고 있다.
암호화폐 투자자들에게 골든비자의 매력은 여전히 크다. 일부 국가는 암호화폐로 직접 투자 가능한 제도를 도입했다. 포르투갈의 ‘Bitcoin Eco Golden Visa’는 비트코인 및 현지 기업 투자 시 비자 혜택을 부여한다. 엘살바도르는 100만 달러 상당 비트코인 또는 테더 투자 시 시민권을 제공하는 법안을 통과시켰다. 이탈리아 역시 비트코인 스타트업에 25만 유로 투자 시 거주권 경로를 제공할 예정이다.
하지만 전반적인 흐름은 더욱 엄격한 규제로 이동 중이다. 2020년 이후 영국, 아일랜드, 네덜란드, 스페인, 불가리아, 키프로스, 몬테네그로, 몰도바, 몰타 등 최소 9개국이 골든비자를 종료했다.
