šØ SCAM ALERT: The Fake Wallet Balance Trick Almost Got Me šš§
Dropping this here so no one else gets caught slipping like I almost did.
A few weeks ago, I was expecting a $USDT drop into my wallet.
Logged in⦠balance showed up⦠but then this popped up:
ā ļø āPay a 20% activation fee to release your funds.ā
Looked real. Felt real. But hereās the truth:
It was 100% fake.
I was unknowingly connected to a fraudulent custom RPC node.
These scammers made it look like the funds were there ā but it was just a visual trick to bait me into sending money.
---
š” Hereās What I Learned (The Hard Way):
1ļøā£ Donāt Add Random Nodes. Ever.
Stick with trusted default nodes from apps like Binance Wallet, Trust Wallet, TokenPocket, etc.
Anyone telling you ājust add this nodeā is usually setting a trap.
2ļøā£ Always Confirm with Blockchain Explorers
If your wallet shows a balance but BscScan, Etherscan, or another explorer doesnāt ā
š Itās a scam. Full stop.
3ļøā£ Major Red Flags = Major Danger š«
ā āUnlock feeā or āactivation feeā? š©
ā Random DMs or fake airdrops? š©
ā Telegram āsupportā agents? BLOCK & RUN. š©
If it sounds too good to be true ā it always is.
---
š My Security Setup Now:
ā
Using Binance Wallet + default nodes only
ā
Cross-checking everything on explorers before taking action
ā
Refusing to send a single cent to āunlockā anything
---
š¢ Please spread this around.
These scammers are getting slicker ā but we can outsmart them by staying informed.
Protect your assets like theyāre your lifeline⦠because in this space, they are. šø
