Russia’s Enteromix Cancer Vaccine Completes Pre-Clinical Trials, Awaits Approval

Russia’s Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) has announced that its new mRNA cancer vaccine, Enteromix, has successfully passed preclinical trials and is now considered "ready for use," pending regulatory approval. The announcement was made by FMBA chief Veronika Skvortsova during the Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok.

According to Skvortsova, the research spanned several years—of which the last three were dedicated to essential preclinical studies. These studies confirmed the vaccine’s safety, even with repeated administration, and demonstrated significant efficacy. Tumor reduction and slowed cancer progression—ranging between 60% to 80%—were observed across test models, alongside improved survival outcomes.

Enteromix primarily targets colorectal cancer initially, though development efforts are advancing for vaccines against glioblastoma and certain forms of melanoma (including ocular melanoma).

The development and announcement took place amid the 10th Eastern Economic Forum (September 3–6, 2025), which drew over 8,400 participants from more than 75 countries under the slogan “The Far East: Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity.”
