Short Story !
"The Lost Wallet"
Jay was a college student who bought $50 worth of Bitcoin
$BTC in 2013, just for fun. He stored it in a digital wallet on his old laptop, then forgot all about it.
Years later, in 2025, he read the news: Bitcoin
$BTC was now worth over $200,000 per coin.
He suddenly remembered the wallet—but the laptop was gone. Thrown out. All he had left was a backup on an old USB drive.
He plugged it in. The file was there—but locked with a password he hadn’t used in years.
Jay tried everything he could remember: pet names, birthdays, favorite songs. Nothing worked.
Frustrated but determined, he wrote a small program to test all his old passwords. Days turned into weeks. One night, as he was about to give up, the screen flashed:
ACCESS GRANTED.
He opened the wallet. Inside was 0.5 Bitcoin—now worth $100,000.
Jay laughed, cried, and backed up the wallet in three different places.
From that day on, he always remembered two things: never throw away old drives, and always write down your passwords
