#TarisffPause : A Breath in the Trade War**
President Donald Trump has surprised the world by announcing a 90-day pause on global tariffs, except for China, whose tariffs have increased to 125%. This decision comes after days of turbulence in the markets and pressure from business leaders.
The pause means that more than 75 countries will be able to negotiate with the U.S. without facing new immediate tariffs. However, a 10% tariff remains in effect for most imported goods. For Canada and Mexico, products covered by the trade agreement among the three countries will remain exempt, but other goods will face a 25% tariff.
Markets reacted positively to the news, recovering some of the recent losses. Still, uncertainty persists, especially with China, which has responded with its own tariff increases. Could this pause be the beginning of a new trade strategy or just a temporary respite? Only time will tell.
