FIL: Security through cryptographic proofs – PoRep and PoSt! 🧐🔐

Filecoin uses unique cryptographic proofs to ensure the integrity and reliability of data storage: Proof-of-Replication (PoRep) and Proof-of-Spacetime (PoSt).

Proof-of-Replication (PoRep): This is proof that the storage provider has indeed received the data and uniquely encoded it for storage in multiple locations (replication). This guarantees that the data has truly been stored and is not a duplicate of already existing data.
Proof-of-Spacetime (PoSt): This is proof that the storage provider continues to store the data for a specified period of time. Miners must periodically provide these proofs to the network to confirm the continuity of storage. If proof is not provided, the miner loses their stake and reward.
These innovative cryptographic mechanisms provide a high level of trust and transparency in the decentralized Filecoin storage network.
