General Usage Guide for Wallet Connect (based on the example of
@TrustWallet )
Wallet Connect is a service that allows you to connect a wallet from a mobile device to a dApp in a browser.
General steps to connect your mobile wallet to a dApp using Wallet Connect:
▪️Access the dApp in your browser: Navigate to the decentralized application you want to interact with, for example,
@PancakeSwap 💥
▪️Initiate the connection process: Within the dApp interface in the browser, look for the option to "Connect Wallet."
You will often see Metamask as the most common option, but there will also be other providers, including Wallet Connect🔥
▪️Select
@WalletConnect : Choose the Wallet Connect option. This will generate a QR code on your browser screen.🎉
▪️Open your mobile wallet and find
#WalletConnect : On your mobile device, open your wallet application (for example, Trust Wallet). Within the app, go to the "Settings" section. You should find an option called "Wallet Connect." ⚙️
▪️Scan the QR code: Select the "Wallet Connect" option in your mobile wallet and use your phone's camera to scan the QR code displayed on your browser screen.
▪️Confirm the connection on your mobile: Once the code is scanned, your mobile wallet will recognize the dApp interface (for example,
#PancakeSwap ) and will ask you to confirm the connection. By accepting, your wallet will be connected and ready to operate with the dApp in the browser.🚀
▪️Perform operations and confirm transactions: You can now start operating in the dApp from your browser (for example, perform a token swap). When you initiate a transaction, the confirmation request will appear directly in your mobile wallet. From your mobile, you can accept ("send") or cancel the transaction. You can also adjust settings like the gas price if you wish.
