If you think this tournament is not interesting to anyone, I want to point out that the PX token has grown by +50% since the announcement of Season 2. At the same time, the market itself did not help PX grow in any way.
About the tournament 🧙♂️
The main goal in the tournament is to buy pixels from each other on the canvas using real PX tokens.
The tournament starts with a 128x128 grid and gradually expands to 1024x1024 as all the initial pixels are purchased.
The starting price of each pixel is 1 PX. When you buy a pixel, you do not control the price at which you sell it or the ability to sell it at all. Your pixel can be bought by another player at any time only for double the price you paid. All of this is controlled by smart contracts on the blockchain. In this way, the pixel’s price can double infinitely with each new owner.
Each pixel on the canvas is an NFT that is linked to your wallet when you purchase it. The NFT itself cannot be transferred to another wallet unless someone buys the pixel from you.
When you sell your pixel, you receive 75% of the amount, which equals 1.5x.
The remaining 25% is distributed as follows:
10% → Tournament bank, increasing the prize pool.
10% → Referrers who brought you to Notpixel (all time).
5% → Burn.
Also, each pixel purchase gives a chance to win one of the 80,000 prizes consisting of Telegram gifts and pixel skins.
In-game items ⚔️
Dynamite — is the only way to repaint pixels you do not own, but it does not affect any ranking in the tournament.
Pixel flag — is an animated flag visible to all players. It can be used to draw attention to a specific pixel.

The starting prize pool of the tournament is 1,000,000 PX
It is distributed as follows:
1% goes to the owner(s) of the most expensive pixel.
10% is shared among the last 512 buyers of pixels at the end of the tournament.
20% goes to the 512 players who end up with the most pixels
30% goes to the 512 players who bought the most pixels for 1 PX
39% is distributed among 16 squads (64 top players in each) with the highest total number of pixel owners. Switching squads during the tournament resets your progress in the squad leaderboards.
Top 100 leaders of the best squads will receive Telegram gifts. The more pixels your team captures, the better the gift your squad leader will receive.
When does the tournament end?

Based on the current information, I am personally only interested in the category for the top 512 players who buy the most pixels at the price of 1 PX. This category will receive 30% of the total prize pool, which is a lot.
So what is the point of my strategy? If you buy pixels at the right time and in the right places, it is practically risk-free.
Why is it risk-free? Because if you buy a pixel for 1 PX at the very beginning, someone else will definitely buy it for 2 PX. That way, you get back 1.5 PX (after the 25% fee), so you are already in profit. I recommend focusing your purchases closer to the center of the canvas. The canvas size starts at 128x128 and expands to 1024x1024 as the first pixels sell out, so it will be easy to buy a lot of pixels at 1 PX, especially if you start early.
Rewards in this category range from 1124 PX (for 1st place) to 246 PX (for 512th place) and can be even higher 📈 since 10% from every transaction goes to the prize pool.
The only thing that can harm this strategy is if the blockchain fee for the transaction is too high. Do not forget this is still interaction with a smart contract.
