According to (business insider) reports on Tuesday, Nvidia's (#NVDA ) CEO Jensen Huang stated that the company plans to continue sponsoring H-1B visas. Huang's statement comes amid panic and confusion among tech workers regarding H-1B visas, a significant portion of which comes from India and China. As early as mid-September, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order raising the cost of these visas from a total of about $900 to $100,000. Manufacturing chips on American soil has critical strategic significance. In short: no chips, no economy, no defense. The world of comparative advantages is gone — replaced by a world of 'maximum lethality.' That means artificial intelligence, drones, and all things high-tech. If you want to have them, want to project power, you must be able to manufacture them, not to mention actually use them.
