MetaMask is reportedly preparing to launch its stablecoin this week

The #MetaMask stablecoin (mUSD) was revealed to be in development after a governance proposal was accidentally published and quickly removed last week. The stablecoin is supported by partnerships with #Bridge for payments infrastructure, #M0 for issuance, and #Blackstone for custody and treasury management.

MetaMask’s decision to launch a branded stablecoin is motivated by the chance to earn a share of the yield from underlying stablecoin assets, typically short-term, highly liquid securities like U.S. Treasuries.
