At the Bitcoin MENA 2024 conference held in Dubai, Binance co-founder Changpeng "CZ" Zhao laid out his perspective on the future development of Bitcoin. While participating in a panel discussion, he expressed the view that Bitcoin, the first cryptocurrency, should not be regarded as just another separate asset but rather as ordinary money.

"We shouldn't refer to this as blockchain – it's simply money," stated CZ, stressing that the usage of cryptocurrencies has seen a remarkable increase in recent years.
In his opinion, due to basic mathematical principles and concepts, government spending on the economy is bound to keep rising. He also pointed out that currently, around 5 - 10% of people are investing in BTC, and this percentage is only set to grow.

"We haven't even reached the lower threshold, which is typically around 20%. However, in recent years, we've witnessed broader adoption rates like 50%, 70%, and even potentially 100%, although achieving that might involve several factors," CZ noted.
Zhao firmly believes that the market capitalization of cryptocurrency ought to surpass that of gold, which is currently approximately $18 trillion. If that happens, the price of one Bitcoin would range from $850,000 to $921,000.

"Bitcoin is superior to gold. It has a limited supply, is more user-friendly, and is ideal for storage. In the future, its function as a means of preserving and transferring value will become more prevalent than that of any other asset," CZ emphasized.

Coincidentally, CZ's announcement aligned with news about the legislative arrangements in El Salvador regarding obtaining funds from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The local government there intends to make the requirements for decision-making related to legal tender less stringent.

Previously, Bitwise analysts had predicted that Bitcoin's price could reach $200,000 by the end of 2025. Moreover, if the United States were to adopt a reserve creation strategy, the price could exceed $500,000. Experts also think that by 2029, these digital assets could overtake gold in terms of market capitalization.
