Massive token burn and sustainable deflationary models are quietly rewriting the value logic of DeFi projects.
The Uniswap Foundation and Uniswap Labs jointly released the 'UNIfication' proposal this Monday, announcing plans to activate the protocol fee switch and establish a token burn mechanism. Following the announcement, the UNI token surged over 38%.
Meanwhile, the core DeFi protocol JustLend DAO in the TRON ecosystem has taken the lead in completing the first round of large-scale JST burn, destroying approximately 559 million JST at once, accounting for 5.66% of the total token supply.
These two events signify that DeFi projects are transitioning from purely functional protocols to economies with solid value support.

Having used both Ethereum and TRON for a while, I’ve come to appreciate how different the DeFi experience feels on each chain, not just in numbers, but in practicality.
On Ethereum, DeFi has long been the gold standard. The ecosystem is mature, the tooling is advanced, and the innovation is undeniable.
However, as the space evolved, the day-to-day user experience began to expose a gap between infrastructure excellence and accessibility. To be clear, Ethereum remains a cornerstone of DeFi, especially for innovation and institutional trust. But when it comes to everyday usability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, TRON has quietly built an ecosystem that’s catching up fast and serving users in real time.
