š„India has imposed restrictions on the import of certain consumer goods from Bangladesh via land transit routes through the northeastern states. According to a notification by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), a new provisionāPara 19āhas been added to the 'General Notes Regarding Import Policy' under the ITC (HS), 2022 Schedule 1. This change prohibits the import of specific items such as fruit-flavoured and carbonated drinks, processed foods (including snacks, chips, baked goods, and confectionery), cotton waste, plastic and PVC finished products (excluding pigments, dyes, plasticisers, and granules), and wooden furniture through border points in Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, and West Bengal.
