On April 30, CZ was sentenced to 4 months in prison.

Champeng Zhao was accused of violating the Bank Secrecy Act, as well as the fact that more than 1.5 million transactions worth about $900 million related to the financing of terrorism and other illegal transactions took place through Binance under his leadership.

As a result, Binance was ordered to pay a $4.3 billion fine, and the US Department of Justice demanded his resignation from the post of head of Binance.
