China and Russia have announced plans to construct an automated nuclear power station on the Moon by 2035.

This week, Russia’s space agency Roscosmos and the China National Space Administration (CNSA) signed a memorandum of cooperation to advance the project.

The power station will support the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS), supplying energy for extended lunar missions and scientific exploration.
