Local time on November 7, President-elect Trump issued a statement saying that his campaign team's chief advisor, Susan Wiles, will serve as the White House Chief of Staff in the Trump administration. This is Trump's first major appointment after being elected.
In the statement, Trump said that Wiles was one of the key figures who helped him successfully campaign in 2016 and 2020, and Wiles rightfully becomes the first female Chief of Staff in U.S. history. At 67 years old, Wiles has been in politics for over 40 years and has advised Trump on three campaigns. She started as an assistant to Republican legislators and participated in President Reagan's campaign at the age of 23 in 1980.
