JPMorgan completes cross-chain pilot transaction, traditional finance and decentralized ecosystem integration usher in a new transformation
JPMorgan has collaborated with Ondo Finance and Chainlink to successfully complete a cross-chain atomic settlement pilot transaction between a private chain and a public Layer-1 chain. This test not only bridges traditional finance and decentralized ecosystems but also opens new avenues for the custody and clearing of digital assets.
According to a statement on May 14, JPMorgan's blockchain division Kinexys, utilizing Ondo Finance's tokenized short-term U.S. Treasury product OUSG, successfully achieved synchronized delivery of funds (DvP) on the Ondo Chain test network, significantly reducing settlement risk.
At the same time, Chainlink's interoperability infrastructure also ensured secure communication, data consistency, and final confirmation within seconds between the two blockchain networks.
Kinexys settlement solutions manager Nelli Zaltsman noted: "By seamlessly connecting our institutional payment solutions with various blockchain infrastructures, we can provide our clients with more scalable transaction clearing services within a broader financial ecosystem."
Over the past decade, traditional DvP settlements have caused market participants more than $900 billion in efficiency losses due to system fragmentation and numerous manual processes; this pilot fully demonstrates the immense potential of real-time settlements and automated processes.
