Does man have free will or is he driven? This is a question with twisted logic that requires our answer to be one of these two things, and perhaps the correct question is: Does man's freedom of choice conflict with what God has decreed and predestined?

Although man is driven in most of his affairs and conditions by God's will and desire and has no control over much of what God has decreed and predestined, He, glory be to Him, has granted man the ability to choose and freedom of will in belief or disbelief, and in the actions that follow them for which a person is held accountable and bears responsibility and deserves to be rewarded for, whether good or evil.

Despite freedom of choice and independence of will in the matter of faith, God did not leave His servants without showing them the path to Him, so He shows them His signs, bestows His provisions upon them, and sends to them those who warn them on the Day of Judgment. So glory be to God who has not only honored us with freedom, but also with the reward of bliss when we use it well in what pleases Him.
