🇷🇺📈 Russian miners extracted Bitcoin worth $4.2 billion in 2024
Russia continues to strengthen its position in the cryptocurrency mining sector, ranking second in the world by Bitcoin mining volume. According to Sergey Bezdolov, director of the Association of Industrial Mining (APM), the hash rate of Russian miners is 150 EH/s, accounting for approximately 16.6% of the global hash rate.
The main drivers of growth have been investments in the industry, government support, and a favorable climate for mining. In 2024, Russian miners extracted approximately 36,000 BTC, valued at $4.2 billion. However, illegal mining remains a significant problem — only about 30% of miners are officially registered.
📊 Experts predict further growth in Russia's share of the global hash rate to 18-19% by the end of 2025, driven by equipment modernization and increasing demand for mining services.
🌀 The market continues to attract large institutional investors, and there is a noticeable increase in demand for the construction of mining data centers.
