What is Treehouse (TREE)?
Treehouse is a decentralized protocol focused on building fixed-income infrastructure for the cryptocurrency ecosystem. It aims to bring greater standardization and transparency to interest rates in decentralized finance (DeFi), offering tools and benchmarks similar in purpose to those found in traditional finance. At the core of the protocol are two main components: tokenized yield-generating assets known as tAssets, and the Decentralized Offered Rate (DOR) system, which publishes on-chain benchmark interest rates.
tAssets, such as tETH, are created when users deposit ETH or liquid staking tokens into the platform. They participate in automated strategies that aim to generate consistent returns by capturing arbitrage opportunities across DeFi protocols. tAssets allow users to gain exposure to staking yields while also earning additional rewards through the platform's incentive programs. As tAssets represent tokenized yield positions, they can be held, transferred, or used within other DeFi applications.
Yield mechanisms are supported by Treehouse’s benchmark rate system, DOR. DOR aggregates staking rate data from various sources to produce standardized reference rates like the Treehouse Ethereum Staking Rate (TESR). The rate-setting process involves several types of participants: Panelists who submit data, Delegators who stake tAssets to support them, Operators who manage infrastructure, and Referencers who consume the data. These benchmark rates can then be used by DeFi protocols to develop various fixed-rate products, such as loans, swaps, or structured financial instruments.
To maintain the integrity of the system, Treehouse has implemented risk management tools. These include Protocol-Owned Peg Protection (PPP), insurance funds, and mechanisms to help stabilize the value of tAssets during periods of market volatility. The features are intended to protect both individual users and the protocol against sharp deviations or failures in rate calculations.
$TREE is the native token of the Treehouse protocol. It is used for governance, allowing holders to vote on key protocol decisions, and it serves as a utility token within the platform. Users pay $TREE to access certain protocol functions, including DOR data, and can stake it to participate in roles such as Panelists and Delegators. Staking $TREE also entitles participants to earn rewards based on the accuracy of submitted data and overall participation in the rate-setting process.
The circulating supply of $TREE is 156M with a total supply of 1 billion tokens. $TREE token is listed on Binance for trade and purchase. The current price of $TREE is available and updated in real-time on Binance.
