What is Ondo (ONDO)?
ONDO is the native token of Ondo Finance, a decentralized finance platform designed to connect traditional financial assets with blockchain-based systems. Introduced in 2021, Ondo Finance specializes in the tokenization of real-world assets such as U.S. Treasuries, bonds, and money market instruments. The platform aims to make institutional financial products available through decentralized infrastructure.
Ondo Finance operates through two divisions: Asset Management and Technology. The Asset Management unit issues tokenized products, while the Technology division builds and maintains the infrastructure to support decentralized access and transactions. Ondo reportedly aims to continue expanding its RWA product suite. This expansion is likely to further blend the lines between DeFi and TradFi, attracting more institutional participation in the blockchain space.
The ONDO token functions as the governance token for the Ondo DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). Token holders can participate in decision-making processes related to protocol upgrades and the management of associated platforms within the Ondo ecosystem. This includes oversight of projects such as Flux Finance, a decentralized lending platform that operates under the governance framework of the Ondo DAO.
ONDO is the governance token of the Ondo Finance decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). It enables holders to vote on key protocol decisions, including economic parameters, smart contract upgrades, and overall DAO management. The token has a fixed maximum supply of 10 billion. As of now, the circulating supply of ONDO is approximately 3.15 billion tokens.
ONDO is listed on Binance for trade and purchase. The current price of ONDO is available and updated in real-time on Binance.
