According to Foresight News, John Egan, the former head of crypto at Stripe, has joined Polygon Labs as the Chief Product Officer. Egan will focus on enhancing the payment experience within the Polygon ecosystem.
During his tenure at Stripe, Egan led the acquisition of stablecoin company Bridge for $1.1 billion and crypto wallet company Privy. He also spearheaded the development of Stripe's blockchain project, Tempo.
In July, Polygon reported a stablecoin circulation of $2.9 billion and over 4.5 million active addresses, surpassing Ethereum during the same period. Egan expressed optimism about Polygon's potential in the small-scale stablecoin payment sector.
