Trump is indifferent to the EU's proposal to lower car tariffs and plans to maintain car tariffs at 25%. Even if an agreement is reached, the U.S. government is considering setting reciprocal tariffs at over 10%.
A senior EU diplomat stated that if Trump insists on the tariff levels, it may force the EU to take retaliatory measures, returning to the levels seen at the start of negotiations in April this year.
