According to BlockBeats, SlowMist founder Yu Xian has highlighted the verification of WeChat account theft methods. Attackers exploit leaked account credentials, potentially found in various data breaches, to target users. They use the six-digit verification code obtained through interactions with frequent contacts or group members to execute the theft. These attacks often occur late at night and primarily focus on cryptocurrency-related scams involving over-the-counter USDT transactions. Users are advised to be cautious when adding friends on WeChat, regularly update passwords, and pay attention to alerts regarding unusual login activities.
