According to Cointelegraph, the U.S. House Agriculture Committee passed the Digital Asset Market Clarification Act (CLARITY Act) with a vote of 47 to 6, pushing the bill for further consideration in Congress. Committee Chairman GT Thompson stated that the bill will be submitted for House review, with opposing views to be submitted by Friday.
Meanwhile, the House Financial Services Committee is discussing an amendment that may provide protections for blockchain developers, but the bill has not yet been voted on. The CLARITY Act aims to establish clear rules for digital asset companies operating in the U.S. and clarify whether certain investment tools fall under the jurisdiction of the SEC or CFTC.
