According to PANews, Slow Mist founder Yu Xian stated that the 'fake Ledger' scam has resurfaced recently. Attackers are mailing counterfeit Ledger devices to users, along with fake manuals, guiding users to input the mnemonic phrases from their real Ledger into fraudulent applications, resulting in asset theft. Such attack methods have been seen as early as 2021, with variations including preset mnemonic phrases or tampering with random number generators for fraud. Experts warn that although such physical phishing attacks may seem rare, their success rate is not low, with high-net-worth individuals often being the targets.
