According to Cointelegraph, hardware wallet provider Ledger has confirmed that its Discord server has been secured. On May 11, an attacker breached an administrator account and posted scam links to trick users into revealing their seed phrases. Ledger team member Quintin Boatwright stated that the issue was quickly brought under control, compromised accounts were removed, malicious bots were deleted, and relevant permissions were reviewed and reinforced. Some users claimed that the attacker abused their permissions to mute them, which may have delayed Ledger's response. Ledger has taken additional measures to enhance Discord security. The attacker had used the compromised account to post false vulnerability information to lure users into verifying their recovery phrases. It is unclear whether anyone was affected. Cointelegraph has reached out to Ledger for comment. In April, scammers mailed letters asking Ledger users to verify their seed phrases, using Ledger's logo and address to disguise legitimacy. In July 2020, Ledger's database was hacked, resulting in the leak of information from over 270,000 customers.
