Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of South Korea, has promised to approve spot cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and other cryptocurrency-friendly measures if elected president, ChainCatcher reported. Lee announced his cryptocurrency commitment on May 6, aiming to provide more investment opportunities for young people in South Korea, one of the main target groups for the upcoming June 3 election. He said he would create a safe investment environment, legalize spot cryptocurrency ETFs, reduce transaction fees, and take more consumer protection measures.
