When asked about the current status of DOGE, U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor stated that “the agency no longer exists.”
He clarified that DOGE is no longer treated as a centralized government entity, even though the executive order signed by President Trump at the start of his term required it to remain active until July 2026.
Originally created to reduce federal spending, DOGE — under Elon Musk’s leadership — introduced a series of aggressive reforms, including the dismissal of numerous government employees and major cuts to foreign aid programs.
