CMO @marcvl’s latest op-ed in @AmerBanker makes the case for blockchain as the missing layer for AI-driven commerce, coined here as “agentic commerce.”
“This is the future of commerce: autonomous, collaborative and instantaneous. But none of it works without the proper infrastructure beneath it. To support billions of transactions between AI agents, we need a new payment system that speaks the language of machines, not banks. Blockchain isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s the missing piece that makes agentic commerce possible.”
We can’t comment on any discussions between the partners of Algorand Technologies and FIFA, but we can say with confidence that the scalability, performance, and security of our Layer 1, as well as its ability to host a collection like this one, are sound.
Of course, open blockchains and the transparent data they provide may not suit every build. Some entities may prefer a private database or want more control over permissions. Still, we wish FIFA the best of luck with their pivot.
There are plenty of exciting applications and companies currently building on Algorand, with many more on the way. From RWAs to DeFi, AI, NFTs, and more, it’s all happening on our enterprise grade chain.
